Child Care Now Alberta Launches Candidate Pledge Search Tool

EDMONTON, October 14, 2025 — Child Care Now Alberta has launched a province-wide campaign encouraging municipal and school board candidates to sign the Child Care Pledge — a commitment to champion affordable, high-quality, and accessible early learning and child care in their communities.

As part of this initiative, a public Pledge Directory has been created, allowing voters to see which candidates have committed to supporting child care priorities such as space creation, workforce support, and affordability. You can view the directory and campaign materials at https://alberta.childcarenow.ca/

We encourage residents to reach out to the candidates in their ward and ask them to sign the pledge. Municipal leaders play an important role in shaping child care policy through local planning, advocacy, and partnerships — and your voice can help make child care a priority in the upcoming election.
